WASHINGTON – On Tuesday, Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA), in an interview with Bloomberg TV, stated she would ‘love to see the EU buying more soybeans from the U.S.’ Following yesterday’s announcement in the Rose Garden about engaging in trade with the European Union (EU), Senator Ernst issued the following statement:
“Farmers can’t continue to be caught in the crosshairs. We have to provide opportunity, and the President did that yesterday with the European Union. Soybeans are a big deal in Iowa, and I am glad to see that we’re expanding that market to our farmers and ranchers in Iowa and across the country. This is a step in the right direction, and a win for the Hawkeye State, but I will continue to work closely with the Administration to find a long-term solution and ensure ongoing trade for our hardworking farmers,” said Senator Ernst.
