SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) - Iowa U.S. Senator Joni Ernst isn't up for re-election this year, but she made a campaign stop in Sioux City none the less.
Ernst spoke to a small crowd at the GOP office here in town.
While her main talking points included promoting current Governor Kim Reynolds in the upcoming election, Ernst also touched on a variety of other topics, including Iowa health care, and the recent confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
The Iowa senator said she believes Dr. Ford's testimony, but thinks she was mistaken about who assaulted her.
"I have no doubt that Dr. Ford did experience some form of trauma, I believe that she did experience sexual assault, but I do not believe that it was Bret Kavanaugh that was the perpetrator and that is evidenced by the statements that came from the witnesses as well," said Ernst.
