ALGONA — She wanted more time.
Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) made her first official visit to Algona on Monday, June 29, stopping at the Snap-on plant for a tour led by Plant Manager Tony Palumbo.
“I have some tool box envy,” said Ernst. “After Sept. 11, I worked as a temporary tech at the armory at Red Oak. I always knew when the Snap-on truck was around, because you couldn’t find anyone in the building.”
This is the second time in recent history that Snap-on has hosted a prominent legislator for a tour, as Governor Terry Branstad visited the plant on April 23.
“We want to educator our leaders on our employees and our company,” said Palumbo.
Ernst was joined on the tour by Iowa Representative Tedd Gassman (District 7), Iowa Senator Dennis Guth and Keri Navratil, Algona’s city administrator.
