Ernst: “This is not debt cancellation. It’s socialism.”
President Biden is rewarding those who chose the path of higher education by strapping their debt onto the backs of those who did not.
WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) highlighted her effort with 37 Republicans to block President Biden’s plan to transfer student loan debt to hardworking Americans.
Ernst noted Biden’s plan would ultimately cost more than the federal government has ever spent on higher education in U.S. history while doing nothing to address, and likely contributing to, the rising costs of college.
