Ernst: Biden’s Green Fantasy Is a Boon for U.S. Adversaries

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) slammed the Biden administration for pushing electric vehicle (EV) mandates that enrich our adversaries. She pointed out that China and Russia reap the benefits of EV expansion, even though they enslave children and commit atrocities against Ukrainians to gain access to minerals critical to EV production.

Background:

Last year, Ernst exposed the Biden administration’s out of touch green agenda and pulled the plug on its failed $7.5 billion EV charging initiative. She also forced Secretary Granholm to agree that China controls the EV supply chain and to concede the need for mining and processing in the United States.

In 2022, when Democrats tried to lock the military’s electric mandate into law, Ernst intervened and included a measure to prevent any vehicle component made with slave labor from being used to transition the fleet.
