Ernst Continues Fight to Prevent Taxpayer-Funded Abortion During March for Life

WASHINGTON – In advance of this year’s March for Life, Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), a mother and soon-to-be grandmother, renewed her calls to pass her Protect Funding for Women’s Health Care Act. This effort would prevent taxpayer dollars from funding Planned Parenthood, safeguard women from the violence of abortion, and allow for greater support of women’s physical and emotional health throughout pregnancy.

“Every life holds extraordinary value,” said Senator Ernst, who just received an A+ rating from the Susan B. Anthony (SBA) List. “Being pro-life is being pro-woman! We must recognize that supporting healthy families and protecting the most vulnerable among us is the most important charge of any society. To the thousands of Americans that will gather in Washington, D.C. and across the nation for the March for Life, thank you for your steadfast support and dedication to the fight.”

Ernst also released a video ahead of the March for Life:

Background:

Ernst has long been a fierce advocate in the fight for life. In 2020, after learning that Planned Parenthood received loans through the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), Ernst called for a full investigation and pressed the Small Business Administrator on her work to get to the bottom of this. In 2021, Ernst urged the Small Business Administration to take action to ensure Planned Parenthood affiliates did not receive second-draw loans.

Ernst is also leading the Ensuring Accurate and Complete Abortion Data Reporting Act and supporting the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act.
