Ernst: Defund the Terrorists
As U.S. sanctions go unenforced, Iran’s oil sales continue to fuel Hamas’s terrorism.
WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) noted that Joe Biden has lined the pockets of the Iranian regime with around $80 billion in illicit oil sales, funds which are used to fuel Hamas’s extreme terrorism and promote a destabilizing agenda in the Middle East.
Ernst is fighting to fully enforce U.S. sanctions on Iranian oil and remove this money from the bloody hands of Hamas.

Background:
In April, Ernst and Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) led a bipartisan push demanding President Biden enforce much-needed sanctions on Iranian oil and gas shipments. She followed up with a bipartisan, bicameral letter to President Biden demanding a response to Iranian threats against Americans and American companies that prevented the transfer of seized oil from the Suez Rajan tanker off the coast of Texas for months. Following her advocacy, the illicit oil began being transferred.
