The Iowa senator, the daughter of a farmer, explained how the Democrats’ farm-to-table tax hike included in their tax and spending spree will impact family farmers, consumers
WASHINGTON—As hardworking families across Iowa and America continue to bear the brunt of rising costs and inflation, U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa)—a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee—highlighted the additional burden congressional Democrats’ reckless tax-and-spend spree will create for farmers and ranchers. Ernst underscored how the Democrats’ proposed “farm-to-table” tax hike included in their plan will make it more difficult for farm families to pass their businesses down to the next generation and thereby drive up the cost of producing and purchasing the food we all rely on to feed our families.
Background:
Yesterday, Ernst slammed President Biden and congressional Democrats for ignoring the problem of skyrocketing inflation by continuing to move forward with their reckless tax-and-spend spree. Ernst noted that hardworking Americans will be forced to pay for Democrats' spending.
In a letter to the president, Ernst blasted Biden for his plan to hit family-owned businesses, farmers, and ranchers with “a new backdoor death tax.”
