WASHINGTON – To help recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month, U.S. Senators Joni Ernst (R-IA) and Chuck Grassley (R-IA) are honoring the thousands of Iowans and Americans who are fighting breast cancer. In the video, Senator Grassley shares the story of his wife, Barbara, a 33-year survivor of breast cancer and advocate for those impacted by the deadly disease.
Background:
In the Senate, Ernst supported the bipartisan Metastatic Breast Cancer Access to Care Act, which would remove the 5-month wait period for Social Security Disability Insurance and the 24-month wait period for Medicare for women battling metastatic breast cancer.
