Ernst Launches Eighth Annual 99 County Tour in Black Hawk County

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa—For the eighth year in a row, today U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) launched her 99 County Tour for 2022—her annual tradition of visiting with Iowans in every single county in the state—at the University of Northern Iowa in Black Hawk County, where she joined scores of volunteers, community leaders, and others to fill backpacks of food for children experiencing food insecurity for the “Back Packin’ the Dome” Day of Service. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Lieutenant Governor Adam Gregg also attended the event.

 

“Serving Iowans begins first and foremost with hearing from them, in every county and corner of our state,” said Senator Joni Ernst. “I’ve pledged to complete the 99 County Tour every year because hearing from and speaking directly with Iowans is a top priority for me and one of the traditions I believe is most important for our lawmakers—and one that Iowans rightfully have come to expect of their representatives. I can think of no better time and place to kick off this year’s 99 County Tour than right here at UNI’s ‘Back Packin’ the Dome’ Day of Service, where the Cedar Valley community is making a difference in the lives of so many.”

Later today, Ernst will be making 99 County Tour stops in Butler County, where she will meet with Parkersburg city officials, and Fayette County, where she will visit Upper Iowa University and meet with faculty and students.
