Throughout this Congress, Ranking Member Ernst recognized a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.
RED OAK, Iowa – U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Ranking Member of the Senate Small Business Committee, today announced her 99th Small Business of the Week: Iowa Spring Manufacturing of Dallas County. Throughout this Congress, Ernst has recognized a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.
“What started with one machine and a dream has now made its way across the Western Hemisphere delivering American-made metal springs,” said Ranking Member Ernst. “With operations in Iowa, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania, Iowa Spring Manufacturing continues to reach new levels of success.
“Iowa would not be the same without our small businesses, and as the top Republican on the Small Business Committee, it is my honor to be able to celebrate 99 distinct entrepreneurs and innovators across our state who keep our communities thriving!”
James Bianco leveraged his experience working at a mechanical spring company to launch Iowa Spring Manufacturing in 1976. He and his wife, Kathy, worked alongside an engineer to create and deliver large, heavy-duty metal springs for agricultural and mechanical equipment and overhead garage door industries. By 1979, they relocated the headquarters to Adel, Iowa. It now has operations in Iowa, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania and maintains over 450,000 square feet of manufacturing space. Next year, the business will celebrate its 49th anniversary.
Ranking Member Ernst completed her tenth annual River to River tour this year and recognized a small business in every one of Iowa’s counties. She looks forward to continuing this time-honored tradition in the 119th Congress as Chair of the Senate Small Business Committee.
