Ernst Names Small Business of the Week, Details Flowers

RED OAK, Iowa – U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Ranking Member of the Senate Small Business Committee, today announced her Small Business of the Week: Details Flowers of Sac County. Throughout this Congress, Ranking Member Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.

“Thank you to Cheryl Gerry and the entire team at Details Flowers for spreading joy and creating beautiful floral arrangements and long-lasting memories for the Sac City community,” said Ranking Member Ernst. “I look forward to watching this already thriving small business continue to grow and blossom in northwest Iowa for another 24 years and beyond.”

Cheryl Gerry founded Details Flowers in 2000 with just two full-time employees and a delivery driver to provide in-home visits for floral design, wedding services, and home decor in the Sac County area. Over the last 24 years, the business has grown to include more part-time employees who share Cheryl’s passion for flowers, undergone an extensive renovation, and moved to the upper floor of their original location on Main Street. The Sac City Chamber selected Details Flowers for their 2010 and 2023 Business of the Year Award as well as the 2023 Business of the Month Award. Cheryl and the entire team at Details Flowers continue to give back to their community, most notably by visiting nursing and assisted living homes on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day to give flowers to residents.
