Ernst Names Small Business of the Week, Martin Hildreth Company

Throughout this Congress, Ranking Member Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.

RED OAK, Iowa – U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Ranking Member of the Senate Small Business Committee, today announced her Small Business of the Week: Martin Hildreth Company of Calhoun County. Throughout this Congress, Ranking Member Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.

“With its three generations of family leadership, Martin Hildreth Company exemplifies what it means to be a family-owned-and-operated business,” said Ranking Member Ernst. “For 70 years, the Hildreth family has provided essential excavation services in Calhoun County and has worked hard to give back to their community and our nation’s veterans.”

Founded in 1954, Martin Hildreth Company provides excavation contracting services in Calhoun County. The business has remained in the same location on High Street in Rockwell City since its inception, excavating for the telecommunication and utility industries and grave digging for local cemeteries. From their involvement in wrestling and on the Calhoun County Economic Development Corporation to supporting employees in the military, members of the Hildreth family are actively involved in both the Rockwell City and Calhoun County communities.

Stay tuned as Ranking Member Ernst recognizes more Iowa small businesses across the state with her Small Business of the Week award.
