Throughout this Congress, Ranking Member Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.
RED OAK, Iowa – U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Ranking Member of the Senate Small Business Committee, today announced her Small Business of the Week: Merrill Manufacturing of Buena Vista County. Throughout this Congress, Ranking Member Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.
“Three generations of the Merrill family have found success by putting their values and service at the forefront of their business,” said Ranking Member Ernst. “With a dedication to ingenuity that has generated 23 product patents, Merrill Manufacturing is a leader in the water systems industry and continues to serve the needs of farmers in Iowa and around the world.”
Merrill Manufacturing got its start in a small garage in Clive, where founder Noel Merrill Anderson invented the Any Flow Yard Hydrant, a freeze-resistant water tap designed to meet agricultural needs in cold climates. Today, Merrill Manufacturing sells their yard pumps to rural, farm, and livestock properties all over the world. Over the years, the company relocated from Clive to Storm Lake and expanded to 65 employees but has remained dedicated to the guiding values it was founded on. The business gives back by working to provide clean drinking water to American communities that lack access.
Stay tuned as Ranking Member Ernst recognizes more Iowa small businesses across the state with her Small Business of the Week award.
