RED OAK, Iowa – U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Ranking Member of the Senate Small Business Committee, today announced her Small Business of the Week: Monona County Iron of Monona County. Throughout this Congress, Ranking Member Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.
“The folks at Monona County Iron pride themselves on offering engineering solutions for every job and bringing the potential of every product to life with their expert craftmanship,” said Ranking Member Ernst. “Their dedication to producing high-quality products for their customers while also giving back to so many areas of their community makes them stand out as an exemplary small business in Iowa.”
Over the past 19 years, Monona County Iron has expanded from a handful of employees in a single building to more than 40 employees in multiple locations. The business provides tungsten inert gas welding services to the manufacturing, construction, and automotive industries, as well as fabrication and metalworking services for projects in Texas, Washington, and across the Midwest. Monona County Iron is active in the Mapleton and Monona County communities and proudly supports Maple Valley-Anthon Oto Community Schools, the Monona County Fair, the Monona County Farm Bureau, the Monona County Cattlemen’s Association, Monona County 4-H, and the Monona County Demolition Derby.
Stay tuned as Ranking Member Ernst recognizes more Iowa small businesses across the state with her Small Business of the Week award.
