Ernst Names Small Business of the Week, SCE

Throughout this Congress, Ranking Member Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.

RED OAK, Iowa – U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Ranking Member of the Senate Small Business Committee, today announced her Small Business of the Week: SCE of Cherokee County. Throughout this Congress, Ranking Member Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.

“SCE’s leading role in handling sewage and water issues for commercial and residential sites has cemented its reputation as a go-to company in times of crisis,” said Ranking Member Ernst. “During the state’s devastating floods earlier this year, the team played an instrumental role in safeguarding the community. From manning the water pumps to moving wastewater, these local heroes worked alongside their neighbors to provide support when they needed it most.”

In 2015, Cory Bouchard and his wife Maria established SCE, a full-service construction and excavation company that specializes in providing utility services for both residential and commercial sites. The company works with local organizations and schools and is deeply involved with the Cherokee community. In 2016, the business was recognized as the Small Business of the Year by Cherokee Chamber and will be celebrating its 10th anniversary early next year.

Stay tuned as Ranking Member Ernst recognizes more Iowa small businesses across the state with her Small Business of the Week award.
