Throughout this Congress, Ranking Member Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.
RED OAK, Iowa – U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Ranking Member of the Senate Small Business Committee, today announced her Small Business of the Week: Wells Hometown Drug of Davis County. Throughout this Congress, Ranking Member Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.
“I want to congratulate Mylo Wells and the entire team at Wells Hometown Drug for their dedication to providing convenient and essential health care services in rural Iowa,” said Ranking Member Ernst. “Wells Hometown Drug has made Mylo’s admirable dream of giving back to his community a reality and ensures folks across Davis County receive the pharmacy services they need.”
Mylo Wells grew up in Bloomfield, where he often assisted his mother in her work as a pharmacist. Those formative experiences led him to pursue a doctorate of pharmacy at the University of Iowa with the goal of opening a drug store in his hometown. Upon his graduation, Mylo founded Wells Hometown Drug, a local pharmacy that provides critical access to prescriptions for Davis County residents. Wells Hometown Drug also gives back through their community rewards program that donates a percentage of their sales to local charities and by hosting University of Iowa College of Pharmacy students for rotations.
Stay tuned as Ranking Member Ernst recognizes more Iowa small businesses across the state with her Small Business of the Week award.
