RED OAK, IOWA – Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) is committed to hearing from Iowans in every corner and county of the state. Over the past two weeks, Ernst visited Poweshiek, Warren, Hamilton, Sac, Cherokee, Sioux, O’Brien, Osceola, Pocahontas, Humboldt, Webster, and Calhoun counties to meet with small business owners, farmers, nurses, childcare providers, and more. She also held a public town hall meeting in Palo Alto County to hear directly from constituents.
Throughout her visits across Iowa, Ernst makes it a priority to speak with members of the local media and answer unfiltered questions for their listeners and readers.
Grinnell holds forum about intersection of agriculture and space exploration

As reported by Radio Iowa, Ernst joined NASA astronaut Raja Chari for a discussion at Grinnell College: “Chari is the leader of astronaut development and testing for the Human Landing System for NASA’s Artemis Program. Republican Senator Joni Ernst said what astronauts learn from living on the moon may wind up influencing a wide range of federal policies. ‘It’s important not just for the Farm Bill, but it’s important for other departments as well as we’re moving forward doing research on crops, on protecting our water — water purification,’ Ernst said.”

KTIV highlighted Ernst’s visit to Hope Haven, a Northwest Iowa regional resource for disability services and advocacy: “Well, I think it’s good, especially in this region through Hope Haven. There is a really good opportunity for people that might have intellectual disabilities or physical disabilities but overall looking at this home today was a great example for others to follow,” said Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA).
KTIV also covered Ernst’s tour of Wells Ag Supply to meet with a small business owner: “It’s just humbling,” said Grant Wells. “It’s nice to know that these people are real, and they’re willing to come to rural Iowa and talk to us.”
