Senator Ernst Names PSC Distribution Small Business of the Week

Throughout this Congress, Ranking Member Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Ranking Member of the Senate Small Business Committee, today announced her Small Business of the Week: PSC Distribution in Iowa City. Throughout this Congress, Ranking Member Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.

Ernst has been traveling Iowa from river to river visiting with small business owners, hearing the concerns of job creators, and celebrating the successes of Iowa’s entrepreneurs.

“I’m proud to see another family-owned small business thrive in our state! Over 70 years of hard work has made PSC Distribution what it is today, a successful business with a mission of service, both to their customers and their local community,” said Ranking Member Ernst.

PSC Distribution actively supports the Ronald McDonald House, the Iowa City Community School District Foundation, Table to Table, the Optimist Service Club, and the Rotary Club. The business is also recognized as one of the original investors in the Iowa City Area Development.

Cousins Tom Balmer and Jennie Wunderlich, along with her husband Ben Wunderlich, continue to grow the fourth generation, family-owned company through a recent expansion with a rebranded, luxury showroom to emphasize quality customer service. The business offers everything from heating controls and systems, air conditioning, geothermal systems to water heaters, plumbing fittings, pipes, valves, and kitchen sinks.

Stay tuned as Ranking Member Ernst recognizes more Iowa small businesses across the state with her Small Business of the Week award.
