Senator Ernst on Congressman Takai’s Passing

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) issued the following statement on the passing of U.S. Congressman Mark Takai, representative for Hawaii’s first district:

“I am deeply saddened over the loss of Congressman Mark Takai. Mark served our country and the state of Hawaii with profound integrity, and exemplified the best qualities of those who bravely defend our freedom in the National Guard. I am fortunate to have served alongside him and to call him my friend. My prayers go out to his wife Sami, their children, and all his family and friends as they celebrate his life.”
