Senator Ernst Supports Confirmation of Elaine Chao for Transportation Secretary

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) issued the following statement after the United States Senate confirmed Elaine Chao to be Secretary of the Department of Transportation:

“I am pleased the Senate has confirmed Elaine Chao as Secretary of the Department of Transportation. The new administration has made clear that improving our nation’s infrastructure is a top priority for our nation, just as it is for Iowans. Ms. Chao brings years of invaluable experience within the executive branch to this position, including her tenure as Deputy Secretary of Transportation for President George H.W. Bush, and Secretary of Labor under President George W. Bush. She is highly qualified to serve as the Secretary of Transportation, and I look forward to working with Ms. Chao to move our country forward.”
