Ernst Lauds ‘Momentous’ Progress on Preventing Military Sexual Assault, Calls for Vote on Full Bipartisan Military Justice Bill She Helped Champion
The Military Justice Improvement and Increasing Prevention Act has the support of over 65 senators.
WASHINGTON—The annual defense bill – the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) – includes a number of the critically important
bipartisan efforts U.S. Senators Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) worked on to prevent military sexual assault and hold perpetrators accountable. However, this year’s NDAA does not include the entirety of Ernst’s
Military Justice Improvement and Increasing Prevention Act (MJIIPA) – a bill the Senate Armed Services Committee passed earlier this year and 65 senators support – and Ernst and her colleagues are calling for a Senate floor vote on the full measure.
